The Quirky, Lighthearted YouTuber Discusses His Introduction Into the World of Streaming
By Bridney C.
Danny Rosa, also known as LandSharkRosa is YouTuber and Twitch streamer from Norwich, Connecticut. Coming from a digitally creative background, one of his brothers is hosts his own podcast, and his other brother does digital design.
The 21-year-old enjoys playing single player games and Smite, one of his favorite games. Danny started playing Smite in high school with his friends and brothers - noting that there have been numerous hilarious moments that allowed him to bond with them while playing it.
The amount of time it takes him to stream and edit a video depends on the game and the amount of time he plays the game. Game matches can range from 10 minutes to over an hour, and if he is editing a video for his YouTube channel, it could take between 10 to 30 minutes to complete.
It could take between two to five hours for him to edit a compilation video. For his G Fuel reviews, it takes 10 to 20 minutes to edit the videos.
"My favorite thing about editing is looking back at the footage and think to myself, 'Damn, did I really do that?' because most of the time I forget."
For Danny, single-player games have the most interesting plots and have several different endings to choose from, so each player can enjoy replaying the game with a different outcome. One game he is currently playing is BloodBorne, a game he describes as being stressful to the point where he has moments of wanting to pull his hair out.
Debuting in July 2018, Danny was uploading new videos on and off until August 2020, when he decided to become a full-time streamer. Admitting that he loves to make others smile and bring joy to people, he incorporates his goofy personality and silly jokes in his videos.
"What better way of doing that, than doing it with something that I love and where I can Catch Dubs and Wash Scrubs?" says Danny.
Taking on the online persona and username, LandSharkRosa, Danny says the origin of the name came from an inside joke he and his friend made during their Freshman year of high school. He used the newly made up phrase when he first created his Instagram account. He never thought it would become his gaming name and is shocked that he came a long way.
An avid reader, Danny studies social media and online algorithms that could help boost a person's online presence. Admitting that it is difficult to learn, he says anyone on social media should learn the algorithm, helping new streamers and users be discovered on a larger scale to a bigger audience.
He notes that not all algorithms are the same, so a specific technique that will work for YouTube may not work for Instagram and vice versa. Danny says it is up to the individual to do their own research on how to boost their follower count.
He promotes G Fuel, a brand of energy drink powders with over more than 30 flavors to choose from that is popular with gaming audiences. He considers G Fuel to be an affordable drink that provides long lasting energy and recommends it to those who are on their feet constantly.
"Something that I’m planning on doing is a Giveaway next month on My Twitch Channel. For my YouTube Channel, I am going to post a lot more videos, gameplay, and possibly posting some G-Fuel Reviews on there as well. Stay tuned!"
and find him on Twitch under the username, landsharkr.
