Today's Song Spotlight is shining down on S.A.G.E., a rapper from New London, Connecticut who released his single, "Tonight" on all music streaming platforms on February 18th. We dug a little deeper to analyze and get the scoop on everything there is to know about his song, "Tonight."

"So, I wrote the song 'Tonight' over 2 years ago when i was only freestyling. At the time I had wanted to start writing music and getting into the habit of doing it, especially if I wasn't recording my freestyles as they were," says S.A.G.E.

According to S.A.G.E., he was just "having fun" with his raps since 2013, but did not start taking music seriously until early 2020. The 21-year-old rapper decided to re-work the seven-year-old song, which originally had a different instrumental S.A.G.E. produced himself, but he ended up not using for the official version.

"It took me some time to find a beat that I felt did the song justice, so it was in the vault for a while. I wanted it recorded as one of my first songs," says S.A.G.E.

His favorite part about creating "Tonight" was the overall recording process. He loves being in the studio and had a great experience that made him want to keep pushing himself to make more music consistently.

He plans to release a corresponding music video for the song sometime in 2020 but is focusing more of his time and energy towards releasing an EP. He also plans to create music that inspires him to work harder, and create new opportunities for himself, and make more projects with his team, TheWhoreHouseEnt. (TWHE) along with fellow rappers Dey.Dios and Young Thotty.

As of now, S.A.G.E. has released five singles and cannot wait to record more songs that will be on his upcoming EP. "Wherever this goes is just a part of the ride... This started as me wanting to have something to show down the line but quickly evolved into so much more and I couldn't be happier," says S.A.G.E.
