New London, Connecticut native Kid Cam is a rapper we have heard a lot about at the Sweet Scoop and is a local artist who is adored by fans. His rapping ability is dexterous as it is artistic, and he has a unique voice as soon as listeners hear his song, "Present Day."
Released November 27th 2020, the music video directed by King Tyme, is a visual following Kid Cam telling various stories of him and his friend's struggles trying to earn money coming from a low-income household, relationships with women, and his optimistic goal of making his mother proud once he makes it big.
"Mom's ain't have no fucking money / pops left her struggling, Ain't no jobs hiring / So he started hustling," says Kid Cam, who solemnly addresses the hard truths about life. "Present Day " is filled with imagery and easy-to-remember lyrics that make this song catchy and memorable.
The beat and delivery is perfectly visualized with each creative shot keeping fans on the edge of their seats. The 22-year-old has been making music since he was in high school, and has collaborated with other elite rappers of Connecticut such as Dash Flash, Dappa V, and Trigga Tate.
Kid Cam is another Connecticut artist who should be amongst the up-and-coming artists on your radar for 2021. He is definitely on the rise!
