The New London-based Rapper Gets Candid About His Upcoming Performance & What He Looks Forward To

Independent hip-hop artist Young Meishy is set to perform at the Strange Bars concert in Norwich, Connecticut on Thursday, February 22nd. The Connecticut-based rapper will perform a 5-song set of newly released music.
"I'm excited to get out of the house and see some of my friends I haven't seen in a while," says Meishy. Other artists who will take the stage include ET Reed, Yung-Xiim Young, KALIQ, Jahoo, Jay Svpreme, C.W. Woozie, and Antone.
He has been rapping, producing, and writing music independently for almost a decade. Meishy says artists such as Eminem, XXXTentacion, Lil Peep, and Juice WRLD have inspired his music and sound.
Meishy cites Come Over, First Real Heartbreak, and No 3z to be his top 3 favorite songs - songs he wishes he could perform tomorrow night. Come Over was individually released as a single while First Real Heartbreak and No 3z appeared on two separate EPs.
Although he's released a string of singles onto streaming platforms, Meishy says he doesn't like the idea of recycling music and says that none of them will make appearances on future projects. "If you're getting a project from me it's going to be all new music."
With that being said, he will debut five of his most recent works at the Strange Bars concert. He hopes to put on a great performance and is excited to perform in front of new and current supporters. His most memorable moment performing thus far was when he participated in the 2018 New London Youth Talent Show where he performed for over 400 people.

The Strange Bars event will begin at 8 PM at Strange Brew - 86 Water Street, Norwich, CT 06360. Tickets at the door are $10.
