Jennifer Hall: The Beauty & Brains Behind Vintage N' Vibe

By Bridney C.

"I just realized why not combine the two things I love. Fashion and business," says Jennifer Hall.

Jennifer Hall is a successful fashion designer and businesswoman from Southeastern Connecticut. Coming from a business entrepreneurship background with a minor in social media marketing, her well-known brand, Vintage N' Vibe specializes in custom trendy clothes for women, men, and children.

Her affordable prices range from $10 to $75 for clothing pieces such as flannels, crewnecks, and baseball caps, to name a few. A unique, eye-catching pair of star earrings are currently for sale at $10, a perfect accessory for any outfit.

Vintage N' Vibe has been a featured designer at the RAW Showcase and runway show at the Strand Ballroom in Rhode Island and Fashion at the Ballroom in collaboration with Hygienic Art. Most notably, she has traveled to Fashion Week in New York and Los Angeles.

She has been listed on the "ones to watch list" for fashion networks and has been featured in local publications. Nicknamed by others as "Vibes" for her bubbly, outgoing personality, Hall says the brand is a reflection of herself.

While designing clothes, Hall says she listens to an array of artists from Lenny Kravitz to Mary J. Blige to Bobby Schmurda. She finds that listening to music helps her design process, boosts memorization, and elevates her mood.

The clothes she designs represent her eclectic style. Hall takes inspiration from costume design, runway couture, and streetwear, with the latter being her "day to day" style choice.

Her top runway looks have been a Nirvana Flannel paired with a couture black lace and roses skirt from her first show and a grey metallic bodysuit with silver chains. Her other favorite runway look is a black lace see-through dress featured at runway shows.

Her dream collaboration is with Moschino for Paris Fashion week or Balmain. Citing both fashion design labels are inspirations, she also noted Jeremy Scott, current designer for Moschino, is another influence who has a playful way of designing clothes.

"There's beauty in all walks of fashion, and I include all of it in my design style," says Hall, 38.

A finished custom piece designed by Hall could take a few hours to a few weeks to complete. She decided to pursue fashion after receiving her business degree, finding that she had a love for both fashion and business.

"I wasn't sure what to do with it, and then, I just realized why not combine the two things I love. Fashion and business!"

Started in a spare bedroom in her home four years ago, Hall decided to create her brand combining new clothing pieces with recycled vintage fabrics. Hall eventually settled on Vintage N' Vibe after her lively personality, which others refer to as a positive vibe.

"It is important for people of all sizes and shapes to love themselves because a person's best accessory is confidence. If you aren't confident, it's always going to be apparent no matter what you're wearing."
