Young Thotty is recording and releasing music even during the quarantine. Amid the coronavirus pandemic, the New London rapper released his new single, "Baby Treesh" on all music streaming platforms on March 20th.

Inspired by his childhood and the peers he grew up with, Young Thotty says the song is about him reflecting on his life and his youth. Thotty says he a quiet kid throughout school, sitting in the back of the classroom, and that's if he wasn't skipping school or spending time in ISS (In-School Suspension).

He says it's a weird feeling being considered an "ugly duckling" to now being someone people and his fans can potentially look up to. Elaborating more on how the song connects to his personal life, Thotty says:

"I've been going through a lot of things personally that I take these drugs to not even feel better but to just pass the time and not feel how I'm feeling at that moment. So it's like I'm doing them to run from this pain I feel."

According to Thotty, the "running away" lyric that can be heard just before the second chorus is a cadence to the song, "The Great Escape" by the pop-rock band Boys Like Girls. The other line, "fuck what they say" was a lyric that stood out to Thotty because "when you go through bad times, people always reach out to give advice or to console you.. but fuck that I know they don't love me and they don't care about me, so it may be out of good measure... but fuck that."

Will we soon see Young Thotty perform "Baby Treesh" and his other songs live?

Most likely. Thotty says he has been in contact with concert promoters and venues from other states to perform live shows.

He also has been offered numerous times to perform local shows, but he has politely turned down those offers. Thotty does not want to perform in Connecticut due to feelings of envy from his childhood peers who were not nice to him.

"I want to perform in places that like my music and won't judge me for anything besides that. I don't want to force something on people who don't want it you know?"

If he had to choose, which music festival would Young Thotty perform at? He says he would love to perform at Rolling Loud because it is the most known music festival for the new generation and it would positively change his life.

"Baby Treesh" can be heard on Soundcloud and YouTube.
