"What made me decide to create music is the fact that I knew I had a lot of creativity, and in my head, I always used to rap and sing until I started writing," says SiLLKY, an artist living in Manchester, United Kingdom. The 22-year-old rapper, songwriter, and producer grew up in an artsy household - his father was an actor, and his mother used to sing in church along with his aunts and grandmother.

At the age of 6, he was given a guitar and put off guitar lessons until he regained interest in playing when he was 8-years-old. He later transitioned from playing the guitar to playing the drums.

His teachers at school saw that he had an interest in music, and he was offered a free ride to attend a music school in his area. He was also offered an assigned tutor for whichever area he wanted, from percussion to guitar to piano.

He took up guitar lessons at the school and started to write original songs in his notebook. He first started writing freestyles on his notes app and rap to those with his friends for fun.

"I always mention this thing called the SiLLKYSZN. It means that there's content coming out whether it is music, music videos, vlogs, merch, interviews, etc."

After receiving positive feedback from friends and family, he researched how to produce and release music. While doing his research, he also found local studios and videographers to record material. SiLLKY is entirely self-taught in producing his beats.

As of now, SiiLLKY has released four songs including a meme song being exclusively released on Soundcloud, named FXCK CORONAVIRUS. The other three that are currently on digital streaming platforms are UP, MOVING, and VENDETTA. Released on June 18, 2020, VENDETTA is his most recent release.

The genres SiLLKY's music falls under are mainly rap and trap, although he switches up his sound. "I grew up around diversity, so I and the music became a product of it," says SiLLKY.

SiLLKY is working on a project that has kept him busy and believes it could open doors to collaborate with other well-known artists. He has been enjoying the creative process and will keep his fans updated on the project once it is almost ready. A future release date has not been determined at this time.

"Making music is the best feeling. It is the best feeling when you are satisfied with something that months ago you had no idea you would make," says SiLLKY.
